Morton Publishing Company is a small college textbook publisher based in Englewood, CO.  Since 1977, Morton Publishing has been publishing best-selling, supplemental texts in the higher education market.

Sales Positions

Publisher's Field Representative - Florida

Job Summary:

The Field Sales Representative is an outside sales position responsible for calling on colleges and universities in a designated territory, selling college textbooks to faculty members via in-person sales calls, telephone, and e-mail.

Primary Job Duties:

* Travel to college and universities within the designated territory

* Identify qualified sales opportunities and key decision-makers, send product samples, develop relationships with college faculty and bookstore managers, and close sales opportunities via in-person sales calls, telephone, and e-mail in order to grow company revenue

* Service existing customers to maintain existing business and revenue

* Populate and maintain customer contact information and correspondence within the company CRM (Acumen)

* Provide prompt, excellent customer service

* Maintain awareness of existing business and sales numbers

Other Job Duties and Functions:

The Field Sales Representative may be required to perform additional duties as needed

Required Education, Experience and Skills:

* Four-year college degree required, with employment history, preferably sales-related

* Energetic, industrious, hard-working person with a good sense of humor, and willingness to learn

* Possess the confidence, ability, and sophistication to engage in conversations with college professors about the content needs of their courses (science background not required)

* Strong interpersonal, communication, organizational, planning, and time management skills

* Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation

* Ability to carry boxes up to 40lbs

* Basic working knowledge of MS Office Suite
