In-House Sales Representative

Job Summary:

The In-House Sales Representative (home-based) is an inside sales position responsible for calling on colleges and universities in a designated territory and selling college textbooks and related software products to faculty members via telephone and e-mail.

Primary Job Duties:

  • Identify qualified sales opportunities within designated sales territory
  • Identify key decision-makers, send product samples, develop relationships with faculty and bookstore managers, and close sales opportunities via telephone and e-mail in order to grow company revenue
  • Service existing customers to maintain existing business and revenue
  • Populate and maintain customer contact information and correspondence within the company CRM (Acumen).
  • Provide prompt, excellent customer service
  • Maintain awareness of existing business and sales numbers

Other Job Duties and Functions:

The In-House Sales Representative may be required to perform additional duties as needed

Required Education, Experience and Skills:

  • Four-year college degree required, with employment history, preferably sales-related
  • Energetic, industrious, hard-working person with a good sense of humor, and willingness to learn
  • Possess the confidence, ability, and sophistication to engage in conversations with college professors about the content needs of their courses (science background not required)
  • Strong interpersonal, communication, organizational, and planning skills
  • Basic working knowledge of MS Office Suite
